The Waterfall Valley Hut is the most northerly of six main overnight huts & camping areas on the Overland Track, the main hut was upgraded in early 2020. The main hut sleeps 34 people across three rooms. There is a separate common room with bench seating/tables, gas heating and electric lighting. Tent sites for the general public are on the grass near Old Waterfall Valley Hut. Tent platforms for registered groups are up behind Old Waterfall Valley Hut.

The old hut was built around 1919 to accommodate miners, and later graziers and snarers. Now it is only used as a day shelter and in for emergency overnight stay. It can sleep 8 people if there are couples on each bunk.

The hut is nice but do not forget to get out and wander the area, see the small waterfall behind the old hut take time to just sit and enjoy the valley. If you are lucky enough, you may be treated to a spectacular sunset with Barn Bluff glowing a bright red on the horizon.
