The Waterfall Valley Hut is the most northerly of six overnight huts on the Overland Track. The hut is being replaced over the summer of 2019/2020. The current main hut sleeps 24 people. Tent platforms for registered groups are up behind Old Waterfall Valley Hut. Tents sites for the general public are on the grass near Old Waterfall Valley Hut.

The old hut was built around 1919 to accommodate miners, and later graziers and snarers. Now it is only used as a day shelter and in for emergency overnight stay. It can sleep 8 people if there are couples on each bunk.

The current new hut has benches and tables for cooking and eating. Also an extra room for hanging wet gear away from the main living space.

Get out and wander the area, see the small waterfall behind the old hut. Sit and enjoy the valley. If you are lucky enough you may be treated to a spectacular sunset with Barn Bluff glowing a bright red on the horizon.
